经典乐团Orleans主唱 Larry Hoppen去世

1970年代中期走红的摇滚乐团Orleans的吉他手与主唱Larry Hoppen，七月24日不幸在佛罗里达州中部的家中去世（61岁），出生于长岛的的Larry后来住在纽约Ithica,，并且自Ithica学院毕业，他和Wells Kelly原先在一个叫Boffalongo的乐团认识，后来应John Hall之邀一起到纽约的Woodstock组成了Orleans合唱团。经过一翻努力之后1975年Orleans终于以第三张专辑中的Let There Be Music开始让歌迷们认识，接着的Dance With Me和Still The One更都进入排行榜前十名，1977年Orleans的要角John Hall离团而去，Larry Hoppen则与他的弟弟Lance继续撑住Orleans合唱团，他们在1977年还有一首获得第11名的畅销曲Love Takes Time，之后则持续巡回演唱。顺便一提的是Orleans合唱团的创团元老John Hall当年离开Orleans除了去从事个人的歌唱事业外，也参加反核活动，没想到他于2006年在纽约当选联邦众议员，但于2010年底落选。Orleans在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1976年曾获得第5名的歌Still The One，2004年美国总统大选时John Hall曾指控小布希未获许可使用那首歌，使得小布希的竞选总部不得不撤销那首歌的使用，没想到2008年John Hall又指控John McCain的竞选团队也未获许可去使用那首歌。
