美国白宫国家安全会议印太事务协调总监坎伯（Kurt Campbell）6日表示，「我们支持强健的美台非官方关系，我们不支持台湾独立，我们完全了解其敏感性」。（United States supported a strong informal relationship with Taiwan, but not its independence；We are fully aware and understand the sensitivities contained here）。

他还预期，美国有能力和中国大陆和平相处，但挑战越来越巨大，且北京变得越来越具有侵略性。（United States could coexist peacefully, but the challenge is enormous and Beijing is becoming more and more aggressive）

他表示，美国相信台湾有和平生活的权利，想看到其国际角色，尤其是疫苗、疫情大流行相关议题，台湾在其中应该有角色，不应被国际社会忽视。（We believe Taiwan has the right to live in peace. We would like to see its international role, especially in areas such as vaccines, and issues related to pandemics）
