苹果执行长 Tim Cook 为iOS 6.0的地图功能向粉丝道歉

苹果公司在发表 iPhone 5 的同时，也正式发表了 iOS 6.0 ，并在几天后提供更新版本，结果因为地图功能太过两光，引发全球用户挞伐；对此，苹果执行长 Tim Cook 在 28 日发表公开言论，表示「非常抱歉新地图造成客户的挫折感，我们正致力将地图变得更好。」

在公开信当中，Tim Cook 不断提到苹果公司以「提供全世界最好的产品」为目标，但「自从我们上个星期推出新地图之后，我们并没有达到这个承诺」并为此向全球用户道歉。Tim Cook 还提到目前已经有超过 1 亿台 iOS 装置使用新版的 Apple Maps，并使用该软体搜寻了近 5 亿张地图，这对于 Apple Maps 的更新来说是好的。

不过 Tim Cook 也在公开言论当中推荐使用者「暂时」先选择像是 Bing、MapQuest、Waze，或者是 Google 和 Nokia 地图的网页版等对手阵营的地图服务，同时表示苹果公司会继续不停地努力让地图程式符合更高的标准。

其实苹果公司对外公开道歉并不是第一次，像是两年前大家记忆犹新的 iPhone 4 天线门问题，甚至是 2009 年搭载 core i7 的 iMAC 的延迟交货，或是 2007 年 iPhone 刚上市时，贾伯斯也曾经为新机线上付款的问题作出了罕见的道歉等。苹果公司都在发表声明后随即在第一时间作出最佳反应，赢取粉丝支持，不过这次有关苹果地图的问题，相信将会是该公司的另一项挑战，究竟会在多短的时间内获得最佳解决方案，颇令人期待。

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.

We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.

There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.

While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.

Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.
