Samantha Steatoda喜欢特别的宠物，Mavis就是她养的亚洲螳螂，这种螳螂体型比较大，是宠物螳螂的常见品种。为此，Samantha帮Mavis创了一个IG的帐号，专门分享Mavis的生活照。

Samantha没有把Mavis当作普通的螳螂养，而是为牠设计各种昆虫体型的沙发椅、壁炉、冰箱，有时候还会为Mavis拍张近距离的写真照，意外的是，爱心形状的三角小脸竟拥有一种莫名的可爱感。Samantha说，别看Mavis这样，猎捕猎物起来还是很凶狠的，像是把活体食物撕扯成两半，就像在折树枝一样轻松。

Before the bathtub photoshoot. She was being stubborn and not wanting to come out. I tried seeing if she was thirsty by misting her. That didn’t work. I offered her a Dubia Roach. Miss Mavis was hungry! That got her in the spirit.
