根据阿拉巴马州政府指出，死亡人数提高至23人，包含数名儿童在内，超过2018年美国境内因龙卷风而死亡的人数。由于灾区屋瓦碎片四散，搜救行动在入夜后暂停，白天将会继续寻找失踪的居民。

美国国家气象局（NWS）指出，至少有2个等级达到「EF-3」的龙卷风袭击阿拉巴马州，瞬间风速高达266公里/小时，破坏路径宽达800公尺。目前约有4000户尚未恢复供电。美国总统川普在推特上表达关切，阿拉巴马州州长艾薇（Kay Ivey）也在推特上警告居民可能会有更加极端的天气。

美国东南部阿拉巴马州3日遭龙卷风的强烈风暴袭击，包含数名儿童在内，造成至少23人死亡，数十人受伤，电线杆也在风暴中遭吹断，有超过2万5千户停电，该州宣布进入紧急状态。阿拉巴马州管理局局长表示，阿拉巴马州北部才遭洪水侵袭，如今又遭风暴肆虐，目前正在评估所有灾难性损害中。阿拉巴马州附近的州也随即发布大量龙卷风警报。

从影片中可看到，多栋房屋的屋顶遭掀起，车辆也被吹翻，路边的树木也被连根拔起或折断。位在该州的李郡（Lee County）受创最严重，当地紧急救援单位接获数十通求助电话，派出约150人救灾。县长琼斯（Jay Jones）表示，龙卷风损害面积长达数公里，宽度至少达400公尺，数十栋房屋受损严重，「目前已确认有14人死亡，还有几名情况较严重的伤者，另外，仍有多名失踪者尚未寻获。」
