曾经出演《玩命关头9》的美国男星约翰希南（John Cena）日前在接受台媒采访时称，「台湾将是第一个看到玩命关头的『国家』」，引发大陆网友不满，他25日紧急在微博上以中文录制影片道歉，不但称自己的中文名是「赵喜娜」，还一再强调「（指采访）我有一个错误，我爱、更尊重中国跟中国人」，希望能借此灭火。不过美国网友则在推特建立「#TaiwanIsACountry」的Hashtag声援台湾，不少名人也纷纷响应支持。

约翰希南风波引起大陆网友暴动，为此他更主动以中文录制影片道歉，希望能平息风波，不仅如此，甚至在影片中大喊自己「爱中国与中国人」，表示自己称台湾为国家「只是一个错误」。此举引发美国网友不满，并在推特发起「#TaiwanIsACountry」的Hashtag运动来力挺台湾，并提到「没有人需要为了称台湾是国家而道歉」，有许多名人都发文响应。
