夏礼章／Glen Campbell的冠军曲《Southern Nights》

许多歌手会唱别人的歌，例如Glen Campbell 1977年的冠军曲Southern Nights就是一个例子。Glen Campbell (图／达志影像提供)回忆：我在Jimmy Webb家里找歌，我当时问他有没有别人唱的而他很喜欢的歌，Jimmy Webb就在唱机上放一首Allen Toussaint的Southern Nights给我听…。（Jimmy Webb是一位知名作曲家，Glen Campbell的名曲By The Time I Get To Phoenix、Wichta Lineman与Galveston都是他的作品）Glen Campbell后来寄了一个拷贝给他的制作人Gary Klein，Gary说他也喜欢这首歌但不懂歌词的含意。Gary Klein 最后替Glen Campbell版的Southern Nights做了一段很好听的开场，这小小的改变让Southern Nights这首歌登峰造极。Glen Campbell的Southern Nights在1977年元月底进入乡村歌曲排行榜，在3月19日获得冠军，这是Glen Campbell第39首乡村歌曲排行榜畅销曲，也是第5首冠军曲，这首歌同时也获得流行歌曲排行榜冠军曲。Glen Campbell是四座Grammy奖的得主，但去年宣布患了阿兹海默症，以致记忆渐渐丧失，令歌迷们不胜唏嘘。
