影／哈利梅根退居幕后！ 突袭声明「卸下资深皇室成员身分」
哈利王子和夫人梅根8日发布声明，表示不会再以「资深皇室成员」的身分出现在大众面前，而是退居幕后，并透过工作获得经济独立。据了解，两人的决定并未先和其他皇室成员讨论过，甚至女王伊莉莎白二世事先也不知情，现在白金汉宫内部弥漫震惊和失望。
「BBC报导」，哈利王子和梅根在声明中指出，两人卸下资深皇室成员的身分后，会在英国和北美两头跑，「我们试着要从皇室家族中退居幕后，然后透过工作成为经济独立的家庭，同时续会全力支持女王陛下。」两人也会继续行使对女王、英联邦和我们的职责。

声明中写道，来往英美两地的决定，「会让我们能够好好扶养我们的儿子长大，同时让他了解他出身的皇室传统，也能带给我们家更多的空间，专注进入到人生的下一篇章，包括成立新的慈善机构。」除了正式公开声明外，哈利和梅根分别都在自己的Instagram帐号上附上声明，意味着心意已决，然而此举必然会引起英国皇室内不小的风波。
据了解，皇室内部事先并不知情，而且对于两人的擅自决定感到「强烈失望」，BBC皇室特派记者迪蒙（Jonny Dymond）认为，这反映出白金汉宫内部的真实情况，但会造成如此影响，很可能并非哈利和梅根到底做了什么决定，而是他们怎么处理这个决定，因为他们没有事先和其他人讨论过，甚至即将迈入94岁的高龄女王伊莉莎白二世也不知道。
迪蒙表示，这项决定「铁定会造成重大裂痕，哈利和梅根在一边，其余的所有皇室成员在一边。」
白金汉宫发言人对此回应，目前内部针对两人声明的讨论还在「初步阶段」，尚未研拟出回应，「我们了解他们想要走向不同的路，但这是一个复杂的问题，需要时间去解决。」
2019年5月，哈利和梅根诞下儿子亚契（Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor），并在同年耶诞节时向皇室请假，表示想要3人小家庭的时光。今年初，澳洲杂志「New Idea」在封面以斗大标题爆料，两人实际上已经分开83天，但内文写下其实是在两人和皇室告假的6周间，只有非常少的相处时间，实际上「83天」和「分开」的定义及结论为何，尚不清楚，过程未被揭露。
