【英语多益通】诚品吸引游客的魅力何在？

在台湾，几乎无人不知诚品书店（Eslite），许多陆客与香港旅客也慕名而来，享受24小时都可以购书与看书的优雅乐趣。如果要请你向外国客户介绍诚品书店的好，你会如何用英文措辞呢？别烦恼，美国有线电视网CNN特别撰文介绍台湾的特色之一──诚品书店；让我们来一看美国人眼中的诚品，高明在何处？从中还可以加强我们的多益测验阅读能力。
第一点：Eslite has hit upon a concept to dodge this trend -- making the store as much a place for books as it is for design, fashion and home styling, small cafes and restaurants.（诚品书店想出一个构想来避开书店纷纷倒闭的趋势，方法是让诚品有设计感、时尚，像家一样的风格，是小咖啡厅与餐厅，同样也是书店。）

第五点：It has also become a magnet for tourists visiting the island, some from the mainland China in search for literature banned under the Communist Party's strict censorship.（诚品书店已成了吸引到访本岛观光客的磁石；有些人从中国大陆来，寻找中共严格审查制度下，被禁的文学作品。）
* ban (v.) 禁止* censorship (n.) 审查(检查)制度
ban是多益测验的核心字汇，有「禁止」或「禁令」之意。censorship是指电影、书籍等等的审查、检查制度，新闻英语中常见。
例句：Currently, there is a call to impose a total ban on smoking in the parks.（目前，有一种要求公园全面禁止吸烟的呼声。）
